Energy Skilled Logo TM

Energy SkilledTM heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) programs include important content on new technology and best practices. Currently, the HVAC programs can be recognized under the following job scopes. Additional HVAC job scopes may be added in the future.

  • Heat Pump Comfort Advising programs cover how to engage with a customer to evaluate their home for a heat pump system. Heat Pump Comfort Advising Knowledge Areas include understanding the importance of proper load calculation and system selection, dual-fuel system best practices, and the impacts of installing a heat pump.
  • Heat Pump Installation programs cover the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of a heat pump system.  Heat Pump Installation Knowledge Areas include the use of smart diagnostic and commissioning applications, airflow estimation or measurement, dual-fuel system best practices, and duct leakage evaluation.
