Energy SkilledTM energy assessment programs include evaluating a home for a potential health and safety issues, durability, comfort, and energy use of a residential building. Programs that receive Energy Skilled recognition meet the Single Family Home Assessment Requirements or the Multifamily Home Energy Assessment Requirements.
The following certification programs have been recognized as Energy Skilled for home energy assessment. These programs also appear on the list of Qualified Certification Programs for home energy auditors that taxpayers can use to claim the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (Section 25C) for home energy audits, per criteria specified in Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Notice 2023-59.
