The TECH (TECH Clean California) & ESMAC (ENERGY STAR Heat Pump Water Heater Manufacturer Action Council) Heat Pump Water Heater Education includes a TECH overview, ENERGY STAR® overview, and a manufacturers heat pump water heater(HPWH) education session focused on technology features and benefits, appropriate applications, energy efficiency comparison to other water heater types, installation techniques and best practices, service support and warranty, proper maintenance, troubleshooting, and selling strategies.

The ENERGY STAR Heat Pump Water Heater Manufacturers Action Council (ESMAC) is a group of 11 heat pump water heater manufacturers that work collaboratively to contribute heat pump water heater deployment and workforce development programs.
TECH Clean California is a statewide initiative to accelerate the adoption of clean space and water heating technology across California homes in order to help create an equitable pathway to carbon-free homes by 2045 and install six million heat pumps by 2030.
