Why Partner With Us?

In 2015, DOE launched a multi-year campaign to promote the adoption of the Guidelines for Building Science Education in a variety of training settings. Organizations who partner with DOE on this campaign agree on the following important building science education goals: The goals of the campaign include:

  • Encourage the whole building industry to work towards safe, healthy, durable high performance homes;
  • Provide a mechanism for recognizing excellence in the building training and education industry;
  • Increase interest and enrollment in building science related training programs; and
  • Work with partners to improve the Guidelines for Building Science Education to be representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities appropriate for their workforce.

To become an official partner of the campaign, partners must sign an memorandum of understanding (MOU) with DOE agreeing to promote building science within their curriculum, and providing content that is consistent with the Guidelines for Building Science Education.

There are three levels of participation that can be acknowledged by this campaign.  Silver - content from the Guidelines for Building Science Education are incorporated into one class in the program and/or content is provided for this website.  Gold - content is incorporated into at least three classes in the program.  Platinum - content is incorporated into the entire curriculum.
