Heat Transfer

Heat transfer is defined as the transfer of thermal energy due to a temperature difference. Heat transfer may occur due to three different modes (conduction, convection, and radiation) depending on the physical system. Most systems in buildings actually experience a combination of all three forms of heat transfer, and other energy flows.
